Therapy Intensives

Focused psychotherapy for trauma, persistent patterns, and recurring relationship difficulties.

What is intensive therapy?

Intensive therapy offers a different way of organizing psychotherapy around a clearly defined area of focus.

Rather than simply extending a standard therapy session, the process begins with assessment. Together, we clarify what appears to be keeping the difficulty in place, whether focused intensive work is appropriate, and what therapeutic approach the work may require.

When an intensive is indicated, treatment is designed around that specific focus, with preparation and intentional integration built into the process.

Why choose an intensive?

Sometimes insight isn't the problem.

You may already understand a great deal about your history, your patterns, or the experiences that continue to affect you. You may have spent meaningful time in therapy or personal work and still find yourself returning to the same place.

At other times, the difficulty is more specific—a particular traumatic experience that remains activating, an internal pattern that continues despite considerable awareness, or a relational cycle that you and your partner repeatedly find yourselves caught inside.

Intensive therapy creates dedicated space to stay with a clearly defined area of work with greater continuity than a standard weekly session allows. The goal isn't to rush the therapeutic process or promise faster resolution. It is to create a focused container for work that may benefit from more time, depth, and continuity.

Three pathways for focused work

Assessment helps determine which pathway—and what structure—is most appropriate for the work you want to address.

Trauma & EMDR Intensives

For a specific traumatic experience, memory network, or trauma-related difficulty that continues to carry emotional or physiological activation. An EMDR intensive provides dedicated time for focused trauma work when assessment indicates that this format and approach are appropriate.

Deep Pattern Intensives

For patterns you understand but still find yourself repeating. You may have considerable insight into people-pleasing, shutting down, over-functioning, self-abandonment, perfectionism, avoidance, difficulty setting boundaries, or another familiar way of protecting yourself—and yet find that insight hasn't necessarily changed what happens when the pattern is activated.

RA-Informed Couples Intensives

For couples caught in a recurring relational pattern that insight or communication strategies alone haven’t shifted. Together, we slow the cycle, uncover what is happening beneath each partner’s reactions, and create opportunities for greater awareness, regulation, responsibility, attunement, and repair.

A thoughtful process, from beginning to integration

01 — Consultation & Fit

Every intensive begins with a brief consultation. We'll talk about what brings you to intensive work, what you're hoping to address, and whether moving into a more thorough assessment makes sense.

02 — Assessment & Mapping

Before scheduling the intensive itself, we take time to understand the difficulty more fully—what seems to be keeping it in place, what you have already tried, your readiness for focused work, and what therapeutic approach may be most appropriate.

03 — Your Intensive

If intensive therapy is a good fit, the work is designed around a clearly defined focus. The structure and therapeutic methods used are individualized rather than predetermined simply by the amount of time scheduled.

04 — Integration & Next Steps

The work doesn't simply end when the intensive does. Integration allows us to notice what has shifted, what may still need attention, and what next step—if any—makes sense.

Experienced care for focused work

IIntensive therapy asks for both depth and discernment. At Be Here Now EMDR, intensive work is assessment-driven and individualized, with the therapeutic approach and structure determined by the work itself rather than a predetermined package.

Our clinicians bring advanced training and experience in trauma treatment, EMDR, and therapeutic approaches that address the patterns underlying persistent difficulties.

Trauma & EMDR Intensives

EMDR and trauma-focused psychotherapy for adults seeking concentrated work around specific experiences or persistent trauma-related difficulties.

The goal is not simply to do more therapy in less time. It is to create the right conditions for focused work.

Is intensive therapy right for me?

Intensive therapy may be worth exploring if you have a relatively clear area of focus and feel ready to devote concentrated time and attention to it. Many people who are drawn to this work have already developed considerable insight through therapy, reflection, or personal growth but continue to encounter a particular experience or pattern that feels difficult to shift.

An intensive may not be the best starting point when the focus is still very broad, greater stabilization or support is needed first, or the work would be better served by the continuity of ongoing psychotherapy. For couples, both partners must also be sufficiently willing and able to participate in focused relational work.

You don't need to determine this on your own. The consultation and assessment process is designed to help us decide whether intensive therapy – and which approach – is appropriate.

Structure & Investment

Intensive therapy is individually designed.

The length and structure of an intensive are determined through assessment rather than selected from a predetermined package. Following assessment, you will receive a clear recommendation for the focus, structure, anticipated time commitment, and investment before deciding whether to proceed.

Individual Intensive Assessment & Mapping — $550
Includes a comprehensive assessment, clinical mapping and formulation, and a treatment-planning conversation.

Couples Intensive Assessment & Mapping — $950
Includes assessment of the relationship and recurring pattern, individual partner assessment as appropriate, relational mapping and formulation, and a joint treatment-planning conversation.

Prescribed individual intensive treatment begin at $1,250. A typical three-hour intensive treatment block is $1,650.

Prescribed couples intensive treatment begin at $2,000. The final investment is determined by the structure recommended through assessment.

Intensive treatment includes the focused treatment period as well as clinician preparation, integration, and next-step planning. Assessment is a standalone clinical service and does not obligate you to proceed with intensive treatment.

Begin with a conversation

You don't need to know which intensive you need – or whether intensive therapy is the right next step.

A brief consultation gives us an opportunity to understand what you're hoping to work on, answer questions about the process, and determine whether an assessment for intensive therapy makes sense.
