Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
Who Can Benefit from KAP?
KAP can be a powerful option for individuals who are seeking deeper healing and have found limited relief from traditional talk therapy or medication alone. It may be supportive for:
People experiencing depression, anxiety, or burnout
Those processing grief, trauma, or major life transitions
Individuals feeling stuck in old patterns or searching for meaning
Clients seeking a safe space to explore spiritual or existential questions
Because ketamine opens a window of neuroplasticity in the brain, it can create opportunities to gently release the past, reframe long-held narratives, and connect with a renewed sense of purpose and possibility.
How Many Sessions Do I Need?
KAP is most effective as a process rather than a one-time event. While some people experience profound shifts after a single session, most benefit from a series of 6-8 sessions spaced over several weeks, followed by integration work to anchor the changes. The exact number will depend on your goals, history, and how you respond to the medicine. During our preparation session, we will work together to create a plan that fits your needs and supports sustainable healing.
What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy? (KAP)
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a unique therapeutic approach that combines the transformative potential of ketamine with the depth and support of psychotherapy. Ketamine is a safe and legal medicine, long used as an anesthetic, that—when taken in carefully measured, sublingual doses—can facilitate profound shifts in awareness. These sessions allow you to access deeper layers of your psyche, connect with your inner wisdom, and process unresolved emotions or patterns that may be holding you back.
Unlike stand-alone ketamine treatments offered in clinical settings, KAP is a guided experience. I sit with you throughout your journey, providing compassionate presence and grounding support. This therapeutic container allows you to explore what arises safely, while we work together to make meaning of your experience.
The Journey Experience
Each KAP journey is approximately three hours and begins with a preparation session to clarify your intentions, discuss safety considerations, and create a trusting connection. During the medicine session itself, you will be guided into a comfortable, ceremonial space designed to help you relax and open to the process.
The effects of ketamine can include a sense of deep relaxation, shifts in perception, and access to memories or insights that may have previously felt inaccessible. Some describe the experience as dreamlike or spiritual, with moments of clarity and emotional release. Following the journey, we will meet again for an integration session to help you process what came up, embody new insights, and translate them into meaningful change in your daily life.
A Holistic and Safe Approach
Your safety—physical, emotional, and spiritual—is my priority. Every participant undergoes a medical screening with a prescribing provider before beginning KAP sessions. You will also be required to arrange safe transportation and have a trusted chaperone available to take you home after each session.
KAP is not a quick fix, but a deeply personal and collaborative process. Together, we create a therapeutic space that honors both your psychology and your soul, helping you uncover and integrate insights that support long-term healing and growth.
A prescribing physician will review your medical and psychiatric history before you participate.
Cost-Effectiveness of Guided KAP
Many ketamine clinics offer IV or intramuscular infusions without psychotherapy, which can leave clients to process their experience on their own. These infusions typically cost $400–$800 per session and do not include integration therapy.
With KAP, you receive a fully guided experience in a supportive therapeutic setting. Your investment includes:
Preparation sessions to set clear intentions and address concerns
A three-hour ceremonial ketamine journey with therapeutic support throughout
Post-journey integration sessions to help you process, find meaning, and implement insights
This comprehensive approach often leads to deeper, longer-lasting transformation — making it a more cost-effective and meaningful investment in your healing journey than medication alone.
